Howard Humphreys has permanent offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with projects in several Eastern and Central African countries.

Our expertise in engineering consultancy and management has been gained through our involvement in several donor and locally funded projects.
The Company has working arrangements with various international firms which enables it to draw on a wide range of skills and experience for projects, obtain information rapidly and share experiences from different parts of the world gained on similar projects. We also form partnerships with local consultants and experts based on individual project requirements.
Company History
Howard Humphreys’ roots go back to London, United Kingdom, where in 1899, the original owners first set up their practice. Howard Humphreys first registered their local practice in the 1930''s and since then have successfully completed numerous major projects in the region. At the end of 1999, ownership of the Kenyan practice was transferred to its Kenyan staff, who established Howard Humphreys (East Africa) Ltd. In 2002, the Company moved its head office to its own custom designed offices, on Muthangari Drive, Nairobi. At the beginning of 2007 the Tanzania practice was transferred to Howard Humphreys (East Africa) Limited.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Howard Humphreys is committed to providing quality engineering that fully conforms to Client’s requirements and has therefore put in place quality management procedures that conform to recognized standards of practice. All services provided by the Company incorporate Quality Assurance Procedures, which are designed to provide a systematic, planned and cost effective approach to the companies’ activities.
Structure of the Company
The regional operation has two permanent offices in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, directed by the Managing Director, Kanwal Syan, who is supported by directors based in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. In the region, company employs over 100 professional engineering and technical staff.
Health and Safety
The Company’s Policy is to ensure that the Health and Safety requirements both statutory and those stipulated in the engineering services contracts with Clients on projects are recognized as the minimum standards. By a process of continuous improvement and good management practices, the Company has developed and maintains health and safety standards, which exceed the minimum standards.
Howard Humphreys has a Health, Safety and Environment committee to ensure compliance with the above policy.
